Born in Chatswood, Brigid has lived in the Willoughby Council catchment almost her entire life since her family moved here over 40 years ago. She attended local schools Chatswood Public and Chatswood High, and is a parent of a child at Mowbray Public School.
Since 2015, Brigid has served as the Senior Netball Secretary at the Chatswood Rangers and was the Club Vice President up until 2020. As a former Member of 5th Chatswood Scouts, her family has had extensive community involvement, volunteering and scouting history since the 1980s. Drawing inspiration from her family history and community ties, Brigid is passionate about the Council’s role in providing facilities and open space for local sports, community organisations and young families.
Forever a scout at heart and as a young mum, Brigid will advocate to protect the environment for future generations which includes improved sustainability measures, conservation of Council’s bushland and walking tracks, and advocating for ambitious net zero carbon emission targets by 2025.
Brigid is also a businesswoman, having previously owned a local business servicing residents in the local government area at the Fullers Road/Greville St shops in Chatswood prior to COVID-19. It is through this experience that Brigid understands the importance of our local centres and maintaining the village feel. Brigid’s business experiences exemplify her understanding of the importance of fiscal responsibility and will ensure that Council will maintain a strong financial foundation for a post-COVID economic recovery.
Due to a bureaucratic red tape issue Brigid just missed the close of roll, so we sadly had to run without her on the ward ticket. But she’s still a great supporter and we hope to see her on the ticket next time.
